Description
In Stone Town, Zanzibar, it is common to see women carrying water buckets. This is because access to clean water can be limited in some areas, and women are traditionally responsible for household chores such as cooking and cleaning. They often have to walk long distances to fetch water from communal wells or water sources. Carrying heavy buckets on their heads or shoulders is a skill that many women have developed over time. Despite the weight and the physical demands, these women continue to carry water buckets to ensure their families have access to clean water for their daily needs.
