Matemwe is a small fishing village located on the northeastern coast of the Zanzibar Island in Tanzania. It is known for its stunning beaches, traditional fishing activities, and peaceful atmosphere. Matemwe is particularly famous for its pristine coral reefs, which attract snorkelers and divers from all over the world. The village is located about 50 kilometers from Stone Town, the capital of Zanzibar, and it is easily accessible by private car or taxi. Visitors can also take a dhow (traditional Zanzibari sailboat) ride from Nungwi or other nearby villages to explore the area and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
